Russia & More

This year Russia marks a very important day – the anniversary of the October Revolution. In this time a hundred years ago, in 1917, Russia was suffering from the consequences of war. Riots, killings and pogroms captured all the people in the countryside. In the cities, the social tensions became strained due to the bad economic situation, which was reflected in unemployment and the increase of prices of foodstuffs. People got tired of the deprivation and impoverishment.

In that case the Bolsheviks led by Lenin on the 25 October 1917 stormed the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, which was the seat of the Russian Provisional Government and overthrew the monarchy. This event has turned the life of the country globally.

In this regard, this year in many cities will be held the events dedicated to the memorable date. A lot of exhibitions in the main museums and galleries will take place for the whole 2017: international Art Festival "VideoFocus" (Utopia Revolution) in the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" in September, exhibition "The Winter Palace and the Hermitage in 1917" in the State Hermitage Museum during 25 October 2017 – 14 January 2018, "Reigning Russian intercessor" in Moscow State United Museum-Reserve "Kolomenskoye" 1 March – 25 June, "Someone 1917" at the Tretyakov Gallery 27 September 2017 – 14 January 2018 and many others.
